The Situation
The Insufficient Infrastructure
Numerous patriarchal movements and cultural shifts have reinforced the ideals that men should be protected from accountability while simultaneously rewarding aggression, emotional suppression, dominance, and control. All in turn having no space left for gentleness for his fellow neighbor or woman counterparts. To say the least, this has been a growing problem and an even bigger daily challenge. To give a more “recent” outlook is the 1980s and 1990s, where some say the seeds for this infrastructure was born.
Where hypermasculine media culture became increasingly normalized through entertainment, politics, advertising, and in interpersonal relationships. Men were often portrayed as authoritative, emotionally detached figures whose power was tied to control, wealth, sexual conquest, and intimidation. This era also intensified “boys will be boys” narratives, which excused harmful behavior such as harassment, infidelity, violence, and emotional neglect as natural male behavior rather than a learned social construct. Men have taken an inch and ran a mile in this concept without even realizing it. As the results of such a chaotic mindset created unsafe environments where accountability was minimized and harmful actions were reframed as a productive male attribute. Hate to bust your bubble but it’s not. If you are a “man” then it is time to look in the mirror. If you are a ”lady”, it is time to hold a different standard until “they” get it!
To add insult to injury, the decades that followed, was a rise of certain online male-dominated subcultures further amplifying said conditioning. Spaces connected to “manosphere” ideology, pickup artist culture, incel communities, and aggressive “alpha male” branding often promoted resentment toward women, emotional manipulation, entitlement, and further dominance as acceptable or even admirable traits. Many of these movements framed accountability as weakness and encouraged men to reject criticism, therapy, emotional vulnerability, or social responsibility. At the same time, institutional systems within workplaces, politics, religious structures, sports organizations, and law enforcement have repeatedly shown patterns of protecting powerful men from consequences. Usually these practices were done in more subtle ways, but currently, it is hard to escape. Until now! This week, I challenge the system itself through reframing in the hopes that it clicks with you in order to make a better tomorrow.
How can you change the patriarchal system is just one post?
The Identity
The Male Monopoly & Locked Away Lady
Rome and other toxic male dominated fields were not built in a day, this is not a matter of “changing“ the system per se, but an added resource to hold a mirror to things that are outdated and no longer productive in today’s climate. This is the tale of the unaccountable man and the unseen woman. Out of care for a better tomorrow and humanity itself, this is for you. Your actions, behaviors, and reflection matter more than ever. Let’s break it down further.
Unfortunately, many men have been raised on overbearing violent behaviors and survival. The lethal combo associated is the lack of said “men” have been socialized to never fully face the emotional consequences of their actions, while many women were raised to tolerate pain, stay quiet, or make excuses for harmful behavior in order to keep peace. In a relentless cycle to remain unseen, unheard, untouched, and lead astray. An unpopular opinion, due to more woman gaining a new tax bracket, the false narrative has become that men are no longer needed.
Pause here, reflect seriously, and ponder. If this really was the case then why are woman displaying a level of hurt by expressing how they have being left out in the cold for so long while the systems took hold of men to further separate us by design and still not considered through their outcries? The simple answer, women have grown weary and are leveling the playing field after decades of trying to work together and decided a takeover was better than unity with a man. AKA “I would pick the bear over the man.” Do you see the foundational issue at hand now? If you disagree, then your accountability needs to me adjusted to gain this understanding. However, if you understand, then you are further along than you think with getting to a point of self-realization and autonomy. This is not to bash or to dig, just considering the behavioral patterns that have left all of us to deal with a growing “Loneliness Epidemic”. The goal is to advocate for men that were often taught to avoid vulnerability, suppress emotions, or view accountability as weakness, while women were expected to be understanding, nurturing, forgiving, and emotionally available no matter how they were treated. Over time, this created relationships and social systems where men’s actions were sometimes protected or dismissed, while women’s feelings, boundaries, and experiences were overlooked.
The “unaccountable man” represents someone who has been socially conditioned to believe that anger, dishonesty, emotional neglect, manipulation, or harmful behavior can be excused without real self-reflection or change. At the same time, the “unseen woman” represents someone whose emotional needs, safety, voice, and humanity are constantly minimized or ignored. THIS IS NO LONGER ACCEPTABLE. She may speak up and still not feel heard or carry emotional burdens while the people around her fail to recognize the weight she carries. The exhaustion runs deep for a woman. The plight a lady holds needs to be looked at NOW! Unless you want history to repeat itself and everyone just be as callous as the cold beds they lay in at night. If that is what you want for your life, you can stop reading now.
Recognizing how society has normalized unhealthy behaviors and emotional imbalance for generations is a great first step. By naming the pattern, people can begin challenging it. Men can learn that accountability is not weakness, but maturity and strength. Women can begin recognizing that they deserve to be heard, protected, respected, and emotionally considered without having to shrink themselves to receive basic care. Social platforms make it feel that this type of information is readily available and that untrained opinions are more valid than research with validity, every day folk struggle because they rather get their ears tickled by motivational speeches that further their unproductive agendas than to seek out personal betterment. The target here is to build more of the latter.
What can help towards a better adaptation for betterment?
The System
“Cremation To Cementation”
It is time to burn the unhealthy identity from above to begin to create a positive and more cemented emotional foundation. Where characteristics of honesty, self-awareness, communication, and responsibility are in true implementation as self and through community measures. The core belief here should be, people cannot continue repeating harmful emotional patterns while expecting healthy relationships, healthy families, or healthy societies to form from them. This is the pure essence of the definition of insanity if your innate mindset remains indifferent about this. If you want to be considered insane by all means you can continue along your way. Otherwise, if you are willing to empathize here, let’s continue to build.
First, understand that you need to seek out a safe space, you are now going to be encouraged here in a different manner. To start, let’s move away from survival-based masculinity rooted in dominance, suppression, avoidance, and emotional disconnection. Easier said than done right? Not really, as yes, it takes time to unlearn and undo socialized behavioral patterns both taught and on a molecular level, however, a key behavioral change of understanding must be that you DON’T NEED TO BE SOCIALIZED, that is a wonderful building block! Instead consider this, real strength is found in emotional discipline, honesty, protection without control, active listening, and the ability to self-reflect without defensiveness. Accountability would no longer be viewed as humiliation, but as growth. Men would be encouraged to ask themselves difficult questions: “How do my actions affect others emotionally?” “Do I listen to understand or to defend myself?” “Have I been taught to suppress emotions instead of process them?” “Am I contributing to emotional safety or emotional exhaustion?” These forms of reflection create self-awareness that many patriarchal systems never encouraged.
At the same time, the system would advocate for women to no longer normalize invisibility, emotional overextension, or silent suffering in order to preserve relationships or societal comfort. Women would be reminded that their boundaries, emotions, voices, intuition, and safety matter without needing to be earned through sacrifice. Instead of constantly adapting to emotionally unavailable environments, the goal becomes creating environments where women are fully seen, heard, respected, and emotionally considered from the start.
Another important aspect of this system would involve challenging the role social media and modern culture play in reinforcing division, ego, and performative healing. Too many people consume content that validates their pain without encouraging actual growth, accountability, or deeper understanding. This system prioritizes research, emotional education, conflict resolution, therapy-informed communication, mentorship, community dialogue, and critical thinking over empty motivational rhetoric or gender wars. The goal is not to create competition between men and women, but to repair the emotional disconnect that has caused isolation, resentment, distrust, and the growing loneliness epidemic many people now face.
Ultimately, this system would operate on one truth: Humanity cannot evolve emotionally if people refuse to reflect on how they affect one another. A healthier future requires men willing to confront harmful conditioning without ego, women no longer forced to carry emotional burdens alone, and communities willing to replace emotional neglect with emotional responsibility.
The Execution
Move Like Water Yet This Will Sting Like A Bee…
Violent reactions are not productive, pausing to understand why you want to be up in arms is. Your “nature” to withdrawal, become defensive, not wanting to “explain” your rationale and continue to carry on your deeds without care is exactly why the world is spinning downhill. You are the cause of the chaos, and it is time you get it under control. You may THINK it works for you, but in reality, all it has done is left you alone with no one to call on. That is not living life, that is dying while breathing. Let’s break it down into definitions and better actions.
Emotional Discipline: Requires slowing down long enough to recognize what is actually being felt beneath the surface. You have to allow it to come to the surface, no more suppression. No more disguising dominance through vulgarity and scaring those you love most. Ultimately, this can look like shame, fear, insecurity, rejection, sadness, or frustration. Instead of immediately shifting blame or shutting down, you can start to take accountability for your reactions and communicating calmly and honestly about what it is like experiencing it internally.
Listening Without Preparing a Defense: Many people listen only to respond, correct, or protect their ego rather than to truly understand another person’s experience. Reform begins when you can hear a woman’s pain, concerns, boundaries, or emotional needs without immediately viewing them as a personal attack, and vice versa. Active listening means asking questions for clarity, acknowledging emotional impact, and resisting the urge to dismiss, minimize, or redirect accountability. Sometimes the most powerful thing a man can say is, “I understand how my actions affected you,” instead of “That wasn’t my intention.” Intent does not erase impact, and emotional maturity requires learning the difference.
Protection Without Control: Leadership or protection doesn’t mean authority, dominance, or decision-making power over others. Healthy protection, however, is rooted in care, respect, consistency, and emotional safety not ownership or control. Reforming this behavior can begin asking whether your actions are creating freedom or fear in the people around you. Are you supporting the voices of others, or overpowering you? Are you making people feel emotionally secure, or emotionally cautious? If not or you don’t give a damn, again, you are the problem.
Self-reflection Without Defensiveness: This means being willing to examine harmful patterns honestly, even when it feels uneasy. Growth cannot happen if every critique is treated as an attack or every difficult conversation becomes an argument. A person committed to reform must learn how to sit with discomfort long enough to understand it rather than escape it. Therapy, mentorship, journaling, emotional education, and intentional conversations can all help strengthen this process are just some surface level examples.
In summary, you can create sustainable behavioral change by consistently choosing self-awareness over ego, emotional discipline over impulsive reactions, and accountability over defensiveness. Lasting reform does not happen through temporary motivation or surface-level apologies it happens through repeated daily actions that challenge unhealthy conditioning and replace it with healthier emotional habits, you need to find out what combination works for you, this is just allowing the framework to be ignited. Sustainable growth also requires you staying committed to something. I know that is “hard” (no pun intended) for many, but it is needed for brighter days ahead. This means you must stop pointing the finger at those that didn’t even hurt you and further take on the responsibility that your harmful patterns has gone on long enough.
You can no longer use the excuse of your upbringing, stress, or societal expectations. This has to develop into a personal lifestyle rather than something that is performative for personal gain. That’s over with starting today. For your sake and those around you. The veil has been lifted, now go do the work.
Don’t Just Read About It - Hear About It

Episode 21 of the “August After Hours” Podcast may hurt a lot of men and relieve a lot of women. As the host is an advocate for all parties involved, this week, it is time for more women to be see, valued, and considered. This is for men to understand that grace and understanding will continue to be extended to you and brought forth on the platform. However, this challenging discussion is proclaimed boldly of this topic through a lens of a woman who has thrived in the patriarchal system by holding her ground to remain “non-institutionalized”, “unsocialized” and strong enough to speak up against such the unproductive and unprotective notions.

Aurora’s Final Thought
Choosing monogamy of self will take you a long way. By staying committed to take a closer look at the patriarchal system and how it has impacted you in small and large ways can assist in the next chapter of your growth process. The behaviors came from someone and how they affect the people around you has been institutionalized and weaponized. You have become your own worse enemy and you think everything is okay. It will never be okay until you understand your “training” was meant for you to remain alone and toxic.
However, there is a better way. There will always be a silver lining. This means taking responsibility for harmful patterns instead of excuses for them. Society needs you healthy, emotionally and mentally. You can no longer skate by your brute force alone. Today it takes a new approach, one that allows you being pillars of safety across the board. Only then you can be called a leader.
Until next time!
